Motivation
While motivating people has its place, the most potent way to inspire them is by encouraging a deeper intrinsic motivation. When someone does something solely to feel motivated, it usually leads to a short-lived rush and is not as sustainable as a long-term, deep source of inspiration. For example, if a person is not interested in their job, but they do it for the money and benefits, they will eventually become bored.
However, if they do their work for the enjoyment of it and the satisfaction it brings, the ventromedial prefrontal cortex (vmPFC) of their brain will activate and make them want to do more.
